Senate Democrats voted down immigration-related amendments to the budget reconciliation bill. One of the amendments, introduced by Republicans, would have extended Title 42, a public health measure which expedited expulsion of illegal aliens at the border. Defeat of the amendments will ensure that “progressive” Democrats will vote for the bill.
