Mitt Romney, the GOP presidential contender in 2012, stated that that he hopes “immigration reform” legislation will pass Congress before the 2016 presidential election. “Immigration reform” is the term amnesty advocates dishonestly use to describe amnesty. During his run for the presidency, Romney tried to give the impression that he opposed amnesty, and supported the enforcement of U.S. immigration laws.
