Appearing on Steve Bannon’s video program, WarRoom, yesterday, Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) said border officials had told him that “between seven hundred thousand and a million” migrants were waiting just over the border for the ending of Title 42 restrictions on May 11. (Note: Previously, the estimate being tossed around was 600K.) Once that policy is rescinded, the border will be overwhelmed with far more illegal migrants than the Border Patrol can handle. Biggs said:
When Title 42 goes away, the cartels have planned to overload the system. So what’s going to happen . . . is that they do not have enough resources to keep [the migrants] in the detention and processing facilities. They don’t have enough personnel, so when those facilities get full, what’s gonna happen is . . . they’re just gonna take pictures. They’re not going to do full-on processing. They’re just gonna take pictures. . . . Then they’re going to release them right into the local communities along the border. . . . It will be unlike anything we’ve ever seen. [Emphasis added.]
Biggs went on to say that officials have told local people, “I’m sorry. You’re screwed.”
But anyone paying attention knew that already.
