Conservative radio-talk-show host Laura Ingraham, along with columnist Ann Coulter, have been arguing for some time that opposition to amnesty and increases in immigration should be the litmus test for GOP voters in primary races. In the Cantor vs. Brat race, Ingraham went all-in for the long-shot Dave Brat – and won.
Ingraham had Brat on her show repeatedly and even held a fundraiser at the country club where Cantor is a member. She credits local activists for doing the hard work of the underfunded campaign.
