Immigrants Use More Welfare

Analyzing the latest data (2018) from the Census Bureau’s Survey of Income and Program Participation (SIPP), the Center for Immigration Studies found that: “In 2018, 49 percent of households headed by all immigrants — naturalized citizens, legal residents, and illegal immigrants — used at least one major welfare program, compared [with] 32 percent of households headed by the native-born.”
