“Hot Potato” Migrant Game Continues

On a day that we learned that Texas Gov. Abbott has sent a total of 63,000 illegal migrants to various sanctuary cities, including Washington D.C., New York City, Philadelphia, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Denver, a report has come out that the last — Denver, Colorado — has so far spent $4.5 million re-transporting more than 12,000 of its share of migrants to somewhere else out of state. In all, the city says it has spent a total of $31 million on migrants since last December.

Jon Ewing, a spokesman for Denver Human Services said, “We say, ‘Where do you want to go?’ and then we buy them a ticket, usually by bus, and get them on their way.” Ewing explained that this version of Hot Potato is far different from Texas’, because “[W]e’re actually asking them where they want to go.”

Of course, Gov. Abbott, who says he has sent 6,600 to Denver since May, doesn’t force migrants to board buses for anywhere either, but it makes the Denver city fathers/mothers feel better if they can claim moral superiority, which is always the name of any game for leftists.

While most of the re-cycled migrants are sent on their way by bus, the city has also sent some by air, having purchased 335 plane tickets over the last five months at a cost of $115,000. Almost half of them were purchased just last month.

The game continues. Where it will stop, nobody knows.
