Elites: Diversity Is for Thee, Not Me

The Quote Below—More Misinformation from the Media

“There they were: the ‘tired, poor, huddled masses yearning to breathe free,’ and we put them on buses to parts unknown to accommodate our vicious politics.

“Republican governors Ron DeSantis of Florida and Greg Abbott of Texas sent busloads and planeloads of migrants who had crossed the border in their states to Martha’s Vineyard, the wealthy island off the coast of Massachusetts, and to the Washington D.C. residence of Vice President Kamala Harris.

“Of course, Fox News was notified presumably by the governors’ people, but the social workers who have willingly taken and helped these migrants in the past were not notified.

“DeSantis and Abbott say they’re making a point that their states should not be the only ones who deal with the 1 million or so migrants that have come to the U.S. in the last year, and that elite mostly Democratic politicians in the places of the destinations should know what it’s like to deal with migrants.

“For their part, the migrants willingly took the rides with the hope for something better, but many did not know where they were going. And the states where they arrived, even with GOP leadership, charitably took them in and will support them.

“These migrants have a legal right to be in the U.S. as they petition for asylum and are enduring long waits for their cases to be heard. U.S. law allows nearly anyone to ask for admittance to the U.S. under asylum laws that apply to those who claim political or other persecution and risk to life in their home countries.

“One can argue for spreading out the burden of accepting those who we’ll likely call our neighbors one day, but using humans for this kind of political trafficking is unseemly and un-American. It’s disrespectful to these people who are ready to love our country as their own, willing to get jobs, work, raise families and pay taxes.

“Our politics have become so mean that we don’t care how it affects our ‘huddled masses’ who only want for us to ‘light a lamp at the golden door’ — a door we close at our peril. – Immigration Trafficking Humans for Political Purposes, The Free Press (Mankato, MN), 9/18/22. [Link]

Fact Check of Above Quote: This article begins with the media’s standard and tiresome propaganda about “tired huddled masses” to justify massive legal and illegal immigration. Somehow, the article assures us, we will be in “peril” if we try to close the door on this unending surge of humanity. Seldom, however, do immigration advocates consider the peril that mass immigration imposes on tired huddled masses of average Americans who watch “diversity” turn their homeland into a country they can scarcely recognize. Truly, they yearn to breathe free from this madness.

Mass immigration certainly doesn’t benefit average Americans, but it certainly benefits our political and economic elites. Thus, it was hardly “vicious” for DeSantis and Abbott to send illegal aliens to elite enclaves like Martha’s Vineyard to give them a taste of the diversity they shun while they try to force it on everyone else. To call this transportation “trafficking” is a misuse of language. Real trafficking is what criminal cartels do when they move illegal aliens into the U.S. The lax border control of the Biden Administration enables them to profit well from this evil commerce. Interesting, none of the pro-immigration pundits called it “trafficking” when the administration was transporting illegals by plane, sometimes under the cover of night, to ordinary communities around the country.

This article claims that illegal migrants, as asylum seekers, have a right to be here. The reality, however, is that most of their asylum claims are bogus, a ruse they have learned from our immigration advocates. Legitimate asylum requires a well-founded fear of government-backed persecution. Most come simply to better their economic circumstances. The large numbers of migrants from Central America, South America and the Caribbean could seek asylum in Mexico if safety from persecution were their primary concern. Usually, however, they push on to American where the economic pastures are much greener.

Contrary to what the article suggests, asylum applicants aren’t supposed to have the freedom to roam around our country as they please. Under the law, they must apply at one of our ports of entry and remain in custody until their cases are decided. Under the Biden Administration’s policy, most are let go with a promise they will show up for their hearings, a promise they commonly break. The administration claims it doesn’t have the facilities to detain them, even as it proposes to cut funding for those facilities.

The article informs us that illegal aliens come because they “are ready to love our country as their own.” It’s a strange kind of love which shows such contempt for our laws and the wishes of American citizens.
