A few days ago, we noted that the “Chinese Surge Continues,” and then asked, “Why?”
House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Mark Green, R-Tenn., thinks he knows the answer: many of the “migrants” are likely Chinese military.
In a press conference yesterday announcing an investigation into the “dereliction of duty” of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, Rep. Green singled out the spiking numbers of Chinese suddenly appearing at our southern border. Green told the press:
I want to break a little news today. You thought the Chinese spy balloon was bad. This chart here depicts a massive surge in Chinese nationals, many of whom are military-age men, many with known ties to the PLA [People’s Liberation Army], ties to the CCP [Chinese Communist Party], who have crossed our southern border and just been released by Secretary Mayorkas into the United States. We have no idea who these people are, and it’s very likely, using Russia’s template of sending military personnel into Ukraine, China is doing the same in the United States.
Considering that nearly 13,000 Chinese have been encountered at the border in just this fiscal year, some judicious interviews of at least a few of them (the CBP blames the language barrier for so little intel!) might get us a little closer to understanding why they’re coming and whether Rep. Green is correct in his supposition. Otherwise, you’d have to conclude that Mayorkas, Biden, and company don’t want to know. Or, more likely, don’t want you to know.
