CBP Losing Agents

The Biden Administration’s open border policies are greatly lowered morale in the Border Patrol and the other agencies that make up U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Increasingly, agents cannot do their jobs as they are tasked with processing illegal aliens into the country, rather than arresting and deporting them.

One consequence of this low morale is that CBP lost 7.4 percent of its agents in 2022, the largest loss in the previous four years. News Nation reports that CBP agencies are now “struggling” to recruit new agents. To bring in more recruits the agencies are offering hefty sign-up bonuses, while easing up on some requirements for employment.
