President-elect Donald Trump already has authority to build the fencing he promised on the Mexican border. That authority comes from the 2006 Secure Fence Act of 2006 which authorized the construction of 700 miles of double-fencing the border. Due to the efforts of open-border politicians and interests less than 40 miles of such fencing were actually built.

House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) maintained that Congress is not planning to create a "deportation force" to apprehend and expel illegal aliens, even though President-elect Trump used this term. Ryan apparently is unaware that Congress doesn't need to create such a force because one already exists. It is called Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the federal agency duly authorized to enforce immigration laws. The Obama Administration has consistently sabotaged its ability to do its job, but the president-elect has indicated that he will reverse this policy.

President-elect Donald promised an immediate crackdown on illegal aliens in the country with substantial criminal records. They could number as high as three million. Said Trump, “What we are going to do is get the people that are criminal and have criminal records, gang members, drug dealers, where a lot of these people, probably two million, it could be even three million, we are getting them out of our country or we are going to incarcerate.”
