Obama Proposes Refugee Increase
Secretary of State John Kerry announced that the Obama Administration wants the U.S. to admit 110,000 refugees from around the world in fiscal 2017. The total in fiscal 2016 was 85,000, and 70,000 for each of the previous three years.
Foreign-born Presence Increasing
The Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) reports the presence of foreign-born people is increasing all around the country. "In 1990," CIS observed, "immigrants were at least 20 percent of the adult population (18-plus) in just 44 counties; by 2014 they were at least 20 percent of the adult population 152 counties."
Obama Exceeds Refugee Goal
The Obama Administration has exceeded its goal of admitting 10,000 Syrian refugees during this fiscal year. The total now stands at 11,491. More than 98 percent are Muslims, and only 0.46 percent are Christians. Before the current warfare broke out in Syria, 10 percent of its population was Christian. That population has faced a substantial threat from Muslim radicals, and many of its members have a legitimate claim to refugee status.

Currently, one out of six American men of prime working age (25-54) is not in the workforce. Despite this situation, mass immigration continues to flood our labor market with foreign workers.
