Americans More Worried about Illegal Immigration

According to a recent Gallup poll, 41 percent of Americans worry a “great deal” about illegal immigration. We don’t know why it’s not 100 percent, but 41 percent is the highest it’s been in more than a decade.

Those worrying a “fair amount” accounted for 19% of the sample, while 17% reported worrying “only a little” and an (obviously medicated) 23% were worried “not at all.”

The report breaks down the polled group by political affiliation:

  • 68% of Republicans worry about illegal immigration a great deal. That’s way up from 2001 when only 29% of Republicans worried that much.
  • Thirty-nine percent of independent voters said they were worried a great deal. That’s less than the Republicans, but independents’ concerns are growing: in 2018, only 30% were greatly worried.
  • Democrats, on the other hand, report worrying less about illegal immigration: 44% report worrying not all and only 18% say they are concerned a great deal.

Worried or medicated through drugs or ideology, it doesn’t matter. Soon it will be too late to worry anyway. It will be time to grieve.
