The Palm Beach (FL) Sheriff’s Office arrested the captain of a migrant vessel about nine o’clock this morning, after he alledgedly rammed their own boat.
In addition, the deputies detained the 14 illegal migrants onboard, their nationalities unknown, who will be turned over to Border Patrol officials. The captain, 30-year-old Bazaelius Francois, was charged with two counts of Aggravated Battery on a Police Officer and held.
After the collision, which damaged the police boat, the captain attempted to escape but was pursued by a sheriff’s office helicopter and other marine units. The migrant boat was beached just north of the Juno pier, and the occupants were quickly apprehended by road patrol deputies and Jupiter police officers.
