Weekend Tally in Rio Grande Sector: 239

Over the weekend, Border Patrol agents in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas captured a total of 239 illegal migrants in just two groups.

On Friday morning, agents working the border near Hidalgo, Texas, encountered a group of 132 migrants who had illegally crossed the border. The group, consisting of 94 family members, 35 unaccompanied children, and six adults, hailed from the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, and Romania.

The next evening, Saturday, McAllen agents again encountered a large group of illegals: 107 migrants from Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, and Nicaragua. This group contained 72 migrant families, 29 unaccompanied minors, and six adults.

Members of both groups were transported to the McAllen Border Patrol Station for processing.
