Watters: Border Now a “War Zone”

That’s what Fox News’ Jesse Watters called it on the October 4 edition of “Jesse Watters Primetime.” He was speaking specifically about an incident yesterday near the Ysleta station in the El Paso sector. According to reports, an illegal alien in custody there attempted to grab an agent’s gun and was shot and killed in the process. The FBI is investigating, probably seeking evidence that the deceased’s civil rights were infringed.

In the same report, Watters also showed video clips from September 12 of four camo-clad illegals scaling the border wall near Naco, Arizona, with a clear intent to get away unimpeded.

Today, the London-based Daily Mail website reported that in Fiscal Year 2022, just ended, the CBP caught 78 illegals on the FBI’s terror watch list, a 400 percent increase over last year. Being caught, however, as we know, does not imply being held. As an example, their article noted the case of Issam Bazzi, a native Lebanese with ties to foreign terror organizations, who was apprehended at the border in January on his way from Venezuela. Bazzi’s name was found on the watch list, but instead of detaining him as the law requires, U.S. officials released him into the U.S. He is currently living with family members in Dearborn, Michigan.

Everyday crime by illegals is so frequent, no one pays much attention to it anymore. In the aftermath of Hurricane Ian, however, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said yesterday that three out of the four suspects charged with looting in Lee County, Florida, were in the country illegally. DeSantis said:

These are people that are foreigners. They’re illegally in our country, but not only that, they try to loot and ransack in the aftermath of a natural disaster. They should be prosecuted, but they need to be sent back to their home country. They should not be here at all.

As documented here daily, our southern border is becoming a deadly place, and dangerous illegals are coming across embedded with the families the mainstream media chooses to focus on. Our porous border and lax law enforcement have become a major threat to our national security. Yet the White House continues to look the other way, content to let it happen.
