Donald Trump surprised many of his critics – and even some of his supporters – by departing from his past habit of making strong statements on issues with little detail on solutions, with a Sunday morning position paper explaining exactly why and how he would cut immigration to help American workers.
Trump attacked the other GOP candidates’ support for massive flows of legal immigrants and increases in H-1B guest-workers at the behest of their corporate donors: “When politicians talk about ‘immigration reform’ they mean: amnesty, cheap labor and open borders. The Schumer-Rubio immigration bill was nothing more than a giveaway to the corporate patrons who run both parties. Real immigration reform puts the needs of working people first…”
