Texas Gov. Greg Abbott announced the beginning of Operation Lone Star. It involves deployment of National Guard and state law enforcement personnel to help secure the Mexican border.
Abbott stated, “The crisis at our southern border continues to escalate because of Biden administration policies that refuse to secure the border and invite illegal immigration. . . . We will surge the resources and law enforcement personnel needed to confront this crisis.”
