Taxpayers Forced to Pay $66 Million to Fight Deportations

The anti-American activities of George Soros (nee György Schwartz) are well known, but maybe you didn’t know that he and his minions have found a way to extort your tax funds to support those activities.

It works this way: billionaire Soros, through his Open Society Foundation and something called the Vera Institute of Justice, lobbies a given American municipality to join a network that hires lawyers to contest deportation. The Institute ponies up, say, $100,000 for starters on the condition that the municipality matches that dollar for dollar. Thus, taxpayers are required to finance their own displacement.

So far, according to a report published by the Immigration Reform Law Institute, taxpayers around the country have been roped into paying $66,145,000 to hire lawyers to fight the deportation of illegal aliens, foreign criminals, and other immigration violators.

It gets worse. In actuality, taxpayers are footing much of the entire bill, because, in addition to the funding from Soros, the Vera Institute receives direct funding from the federal government. For example, Barack Obama gave it $310 million in 2015-2016, and Joe Biden gave it more than $200 million last year alone.

So, in the insane world of Washington, the executive branch makes feeble efforts to deport illegal aliens while at the same time undermines even that by paying lawyers to fight those efforts. And you get shanghaied into doing the same thing at the local level.

Only in America.
