Even Sweden, one of the most accepting countries for immigrants, is starting to rethink its generosity. Its current government has proposed to restrict immigration and is increasing the sum of money paid to immigrants who choose to return home voluntarily.
Maria Malmer, the migration minister of the Moderate Party stated that “We are targeting the large number of groups that arrived in the past decades and failed to integrate.”
