Sneak into America, Get $5,000

The sheriff of Pinal County, Arizona, Mark Lamb, has told The Epoch Times that illegal migrants, after sneaking across the border from Mexico, are being given free cell phones, plane tickets to the U.S. destination of their choice, and — as a generous grubstake  — $5,000 Visa gift cards.

Lamb says that sources within border protection with whom he is close had informed him of the practice. Noting the strained economic circumstances of many Americans today, Lamb told Epoch Times:

We got Christmas coming up. Families are finding it difficult to keep lights on and find a way to buy their kids a few presents for under the tree, and now the American taxpayer has to watch as their hard-earned money is being taken from them and handed to people who have broken the law?

Automatically sceptical where any affront to the Biden regime is concerned, the leftwing Newsweek website says it asked the DHS and CBP about the charge:

A spokesperson for U.S. Customs and Border Protection told Newsweek via phone on Thursday that no gift cards came from the agency. [Emphasis added.]

Sheriff Lamb continued:

We know they’ve been giving illegal immigrants money for a long time. The government can make the claim that they aren’t directly paying for it, because each dollar first goes from the government to a non-government institution like a charity before it is used to pay for the illegals. They are just moving the money around, but it all comes from the same place.

Moving money around?  That’s so Bidenesque.
