In a blistering denunciation of President Obama’s amnesty edict on the Senate floor Thursday, Senator Jeff Sessions (R-AL), accused Obama of trying to implement his scheme that “stains our legal system and our country” before the American people learn that the consequences are “graver than a lot of people think.” He urged Congress to use its constitutional power of the purse to stop Obama from unilaterally wiping out immigration laws.
Sessions noted that the administration was already reported to be hiring thousands of officials to start handing out work permits and Social Security numbers to illegals. Sessions once again called on the Senate to ignore the elites and special interests, and act to protect working Americans.
