Following the failure of amnesty legislation to pass Congress, more than 30 Democratic senators are demanding that President Biden decree amnesty for at least two million illegal aliens. They want him to do this by granting them residence under Temporary Protected Status (TPS) which gives residence to foreigners who may face difficult conditions if they return home. Although TPS is supposed to be temporary, those who get it usually remain in the U.S. indefinitely.
