Poll: Plurality Want Legal Immigration Cut

Thirty-three percent said fewer than 500,000, and fourteen percent said 750,000 — thus making a total of 47 percent for reduction. Twenty percent wanted to keep the number at one million. Seven percent favored one and a half million, and 10 percent more than than one and a half million. Thus the total for the status quo and increasing immigration was 37 percent. Sixteen percent of the respondents to the poll said they “weren’t sure” what the level should be.
