NYC Mayor: “Texas Madman Destroying City!”

Never one to shy away from the overstatement, NYC Mayor Eric Adams yesterday during a town hall meeting laid all of this migrant-related woes squarely at the feet of Texas Gov. Greg Abbott. Calling Abbott a “madman down in Texas,” Adams said Abbott just “decided he wanted to bus people up to New York City.” It was a totally arbitrary decision, downright mean if you ask Adams. It’s not like Abbott’s state was already awash in migrants in the numbers NYC could only dream of, nothing like that.

And since Gov. Abbott so insanely shipped surplus migrants to NYC, Mayor Adams has had to deal with a task he’s clearly not masterful at. He’s thought up dozens of housing ideas, from commandeered hotels, to big circus tents, to the grounds of an insane asylum, likewise to a prison, to ships offshore, to upstate New York, to New Jersey, one time to Canada, and evenly disbursing them all across the entire American continental mass. At one point Adams had volunteered to put them up at his place, Gracie Mansion. But after getting a look at them, he had to back down on that one.

Anyway, New York City has been left to care for “a hundred ten thousand migrants” who it must “feed, clothe, house, educate the children, wash their laundry sheets, — everything they need,” said hizzoner, apparently forgetting that this was one of those times when he should feign a welcoming attitude to his newfound charges. “This issue will destroy New York City!” he declared. “And that’s my job,” he might have added.
