New York Mayor says that city’s hard-pressed finances have begun to “stabilize” due to an upturn in economic conditions and budget cuts. Among the latter is a 30 percent reduction of spending on the host of illegal aliens who have recently flocked to NYC, thanks in part to its status as a sanctuary city–which grants them protection from deportation.
City Council member Robert Holden supports this reduction, while affirming that it doesn’t go far enough. He stated, “When does it end? I’d like to ask the mayor, When do we see an ending to this? There is no ending. The more you give, the more you hand out, the more that will come.”
