Gov. Greg Gianforte of Montana has signed legislation to prevent cities in the state from declaring themselves “sanctuaries” for illegal aliens. The cities must cooperate with federal immigration law enforcement to remove illegal aliens. The law allows the state to initiate civil action against those that refuse to comply.
Gianforte stated, “”We are a nation of laws, and immigration laws will be enforced in Montana.”
