Mo Brooks Calls Out U.S. Chamber

Occasionally we’ve reported here on the open-borders policies of the nominally conservative national Chamber of Commerce, such as “U.S. Chamber of Commerce Demands More Foreign Workers” and “U.S. Chamber Shows Its True Colors.” (Note that we are referring to the national organization, which is a different organization from your local chapters.)

Speaking to Breitbart News yesterday at CPAC Dallas, U.S. Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) said, “Republicans need to . . . quit catering to entities like the United States Chamber of Commerce who are hellbent on punishing Americans by suppressing their wages and taking jobs from them and handing them over to illegal aliens or lawful visa workers.”

Kyle Olson of Breitbart notes that the CEO of the U.S. Chamber in February had praised the rollback of a number of the immigration policies of the previous administration.

He quotes Brooks, who had pointed out that 2,000 Americans die each year at the hands of illegal aliens: “If we had a secure southern border, that’s 2,000 Americans who would be alive each year.” In addition, he said, another 30,000 Americans die annually from drug overdoses.

“Where is the sympathy?” Brooks asked.
