Missouri Promises Border Aid

Missouri has become the latest state to respond to the call of Texas Gov. Gregg Abbott for help to secure the U.S.-Mexican border. Missouri Gov. Mike Parson promised during a press conference on Tuesday that he will send up to 200 National Guard troops and 22 highway patrol officers to Texas.

Gov. Parson stated, “The crisis at the southern border is fueling the fentanyl crisis here in our state. Missourians are dying, families are being ripped apart, communities are being destroyed, and Missouri children are falling victim.”

He added that the situation on the border is a “crisis” and that “It all stems from the Biden administration’s reckless, irresponsible, and failing open-border policies. With our southern border wide open, every state is now a border state.”
