About 2:00 am on Sunday morning, CBP agents along with local sheriff’s deputies in the Tucson sector stopped a Ford pickup pulling a horse trailer. Inside the trailer, they found no fewer than 33 illegal migrants crammed shoulder to shoulder. Agents arrested, for human smuggling, the driver, an American citizen, and the driver, also American, of a Dodge truck traveling with the Ford. Two pistols and a total of $16,000 in cash were also found in the trucks.
As for the migrants, they were “processed . . . for immigration violations,” though what that involves is unclear these days.
