Massacre Occurred in Huge, Violent “Colonia”

That massacre of five illegal aliens by another illegal, which we reported on yesterday, has a backstory, according to Todd Bensman. Writing on the CIS.org website, Bensman says the murders took place in the largest settlement of illegal immigrants in the United States, a once-bucolic area of Texas’ Liberty and San Jacinto counties about 40 miles northeast of Houston.

This colonia of illegals, dubbed Colony Ridge by the developer that created it, consists of about 30,000 individual homesites, the vast majority of which are inhabited by Spanish-speaking noncitizens living illegally in the U.S. Prior to even a decade or so ago, the piney woods area had been the home of a relative few Anglos living simply as their ancestors had done for a couple of centuries. Those people, most of whom have now left, call themselves “originals.”

The change that spelled the end of the originals’ community was caused, Bensman says, by a development project of a company called Houston Terrenos. That company, founded by a couple of originals–William Henry “Trey” Harris and his brother John–a decade ago began selling lots in a way–owner to owner–that did not require valid documentation. That method of course appealed to those who didn’t have any such documentation in the first place. Soon, Colony Ridge became home to the fastest-growing Hispanic population in the United States. The area, once heavily wooded but now largely clearcut, consists of a “vast jumble of single- and double-wide trailers on low stilts, hand-hewn shacks made of leftover construction material, and parked motor homes.” Most of the originals were soon forced to leave their homes by the noise of high-volume Mexican music, chronic gunfire, and rapidly accelerating violent crime.

Before the Latino influx, crime in the region had been restricted to “a few white country meth-heads.” Not anymore. Violent, even bizarre, crimes wrought by the new residents, many of whom are cartel members, have made Colony Ridge virtually unlivable, as bodies of murder victims turn up regularly and kidnapping and actual enslavement have become common. Bensman says that last year, a dog brought home a human hand, which proved to be that of a still-unknown individual who had been buried with a gun. Other victims buried in shallow graves are frequently uncovered.

The massacre of recent days begins to make sense when viewed through the backstory that Bensman provides. That massacre did not take place in the America the “originals” remember. Colony Ridge is an outpost of the violent third world, made possible by a federal policy that, in its headlong rush to destroy America, has found the perfect strategy.

The region is expected to continue growing, up to and perhaps beyond 250,000, and no doubt other such colonias will follow. Reconquista is upon us.
