A local judge ordered Sheriff Thomas Hodgson of Bristol County Massachusetts to release dozens of illegal aliens he had been holding for Immigration and Customs Enforcement ICE to pick up. The judge maintained that these inmates should be freed to protect them from the coronavirus. Illegal alien advocates are commonly making this argument for freeing illegals held in custody.
Commenting on the judge’s order, Sheriff Hodgson stated “Ironically, of my 850 detainees/inmates, we have had no COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began, and this judge is releasing these detainees under a ‘humanitarian’ claim. I can think of nothing more inhumane than letting dangerous people wander around our neighborhoods, based on a claim that maybe, just maybe, they could contract COVID-19 in the detention center.”
