Joe Biden Wants YOU. . .

. . . to join the Welcome Corps!

Apparently to go hand in glove with the ITAC community we discussed here yesterday, Joe Biden yesterday launched something called the “Welcome Corps.” This new program will create a large, loosely organized army of individuals–consisting of either citizens or green card holders–who will sponsor refugees to “help them integrate into American society as thriving members of their local communities.”

Such Welcomers will unite in groups of five or more called “Private Sponsor Groups (PSG).” Those groups will theoretically greet their refugee family on arrival at the airport, find them a place to live, help enroll their children in school, and assist in placing the adults in jobs. During the first three months of any refugee’s time here, their PSG must provide $2,275 to be placed on deposit for the refugees’ needs.

The program’s website admits that while the initial commitment to any given refugee or family is just 90 days, it gushingly assures prospective applicants that “the relationships built . . . may last a lifetime.” As will, likely, the cost. According to Breitbart News, refugee resettlement costs taxpayers almost $9 billion every five years and each refugee costs taxpayers on average about $133,000 over his lifetime.

The administration hopes to recruit at least 10,000 Welcome Corpspersons this year and is looking for their help in admitting up to 125,000 refugees during FY 2023. Such a total would constitute a 733 percent increase over the refugee limit of 15,000 under President Trump.
