In the Rio Grande Valley Sector (RGV) in Texas, illegal migrants seemed to be turning up everywhere authorities looked during the Long Weekend.
- On Friday, May 28, agents, teamed with local deputies and police, found 11 migrants, citizens of Ecuador and Mexico, in a residence in La Ferio, Texas.
- Later that day, agents apprehended 10 migrants from El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras in Rio Grande City.
- On Saturday, agents raided a suspected stash house in Alton, Texas, and found nine Mexican nationals inside.
- Also on Saturday, Texas state troopers along with Border Patrol agents were investigating an alleged stash house in Escobares when they saw several people fleeing from the residence. They tracked down and arrested 57 migrants from Central America, Ecuador, Mexico, and Peru.
- On Monday, McAllen agents found 62 migrants inside a residence in Mission, Texas.
- Finally, on Tuesday, June 1, RGV agents found 24 migrants inside a mobile home stash house in La Grulla.
Over the period from Friday through Tuesday, that makes 173 illegal migrants found in the RGV. All were to be “processed accordingly.” Otherwise, we have no information about their fate.
