“Illegal” Pass Update

It was just Monday of this week that we reported 1,500 illegals entering the U.S. in six hours at Eagle Pass, Texas.

Things have not gotten any better down there at “Illegal” Pass.

Breitbart News is reporting that 3,000 mostly Venezuelan migrants were encamped across the river in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, waiting for their chance to wade across to Eagle Pass. Those migrants had arrived on foot from Nava, Coahuila, after a 245-mile train trip through northern Mexico from Monterrey, Nuevo Leon. Although at one point Mexican authorities had stopped the train, that delay proved only temporary. Once disembarked, they were accompanied by a police escort to Piedras Negras.

All shelters in the Eagle Pass area are filled, and, once there, most migrants are simply being processed, given some documents, and released. City officials have asked the Texas Department of Public Safety to restart the arrest of migrants for criminal trespass, but no results were yet available.

Many of the migrants waiting in Piedras Negras had been in Mexico for some time. But when they finally obtained their travel permits, the permits came with a condition: they had to be out of the country within a specified number of days. Maybe that contributed to the recent drastic increase in illegal border-crossing, but the smart money says it’s because the cartels have concluded that the idiot in charge is actually enjoying the invasion of his country. So why not? At this rate, the cartels will be rich enough soon to buy a country — or better yet, re-conquer a piece of one. Wonder if they have one in mind?

Meanwhile, the government of Mexico continues to fulfill its role in facilitating the invasion of its northern neighbor. Down at the other end of the migrant pipeline, in Tapachula just north of the Guatemalan border, a large group of migrants yesterday forced their way into a government building demanding more of those same travel permits. They’ll get them, impatient devils that they are, because they’re just passing through . . . on the way to YOUR neighborhood.
