Huge Asylum Backlog Develops

The Biden Administration is allowing an endless stream of illegal aliens to settle in the U.S. under the fraudulent pretext that they have legitimate claims to political asylum. In reality, the vast majority are economic migrants.

These “asylum seekers,” after their admission, are supposed to appear before a judge to present their claims for asylum. This will not happen any time soon because immigration courts, thanks to the surge of “asylum seekers,” now have a backlog of more than three million cases.

The reality, increasingly, is that years will pass before these applicants will have to show up before the courts–assuming that they will even bother to show up at all. NewsNation cites the examples to two women assigned court dates, respectively, of September 2027 and July of 2029.

After the passage of so much time, illegal alien advocates undoubtedly will claim that it would be “inhumane” to deport these long-time residents, even if the courts turn down their asylum claims. Therefore, they should be given amnesty.

Andrew Arthur at the Center for Immigration Studies suggests that the swamping of the immigration courts is a deliberate strategy. He observed that “[P]erhaps [President Biden has] decided to break the immigration system, [and] force [Congress] to legalize all those who have entered illegally and start from scratch. Honestly, it’s the only explanation that makes sense.”
