Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) visited the border in Texas and has posted a video showing makeshift signs encased in Homeland Security bags, directing migrants to Border Patrol processing stations and “asilo” (asylum).
The video shows Gohmert near a well-traveled, illegal border crossing, with a hand-lettered sign pointing left and indicating, in Spanish, “Walk this way to the bridge,” meaning the Border Patrol station. The sign had been enclosed inside a Department of Homeland Security bag.
Gohmert says he had seen numerous migrants coming up from the river, including many family units:
It’s amazing how many women and children are coming right now, just because the President promised them amnesty down the road. They’ve put these messages into Homeland Security bags so they’ll stay nice and fresh for the thousands and thousands of people that are coming. . . .
