Democrats Push for Amnesty in Relief Bill

It’s no secret that newly minted President Biden has submitted to Congress the text of a bill that would give amnesty to virtually every one of the 11 (or is it 22?) million illegals in this country. The fate of that proposed legislation is still in doubt, however, with 28 of the most vulnerable House Democrats not ready to declare whether they would support such a proposal at a time of mass unemployment.

Although the Biden plan is uncertain, some House Democrats are attempting to secure amnesty right away for at least five million of those illegals through the Wuhan virus relief package. A January 30 letter addressed to Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Budget Chairman John Yarmuth and signed by around 100 House members, led by the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, singles out the approximately five million illegal aliens who are considered “essential workers” and who are recipients of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) programs. These illegals need immediate amnesty, the letter insists, because “it is vital that we include protections for immigrant workers to secure the health of our nation and lay the foundation for a robust and dynamic economic recovery.”

This demand for amnesty comes at a time when 18 million Americans are unemployed and another 6.2 million are underemployed. An amnesty would not only put millions of foreigners in direct competition for jobs with Americans, it would also put them on the road to citizenship, complete with voting rights. And that is part of the Democrat plan to ensure perpetual one-party rule in America.

“Never let a crisis go to waste” goes the Democrat slogan. You can bet they never will.
