Dedicated Dockets: Ninety-Nine Percent Fail to Qualify

A year ago, the Biden administration, anxious to fast track asylum seekers’ cases, created the “Dedicated Dockets” program, intended to complete the adjudication of a would-be asylee’s claim within 300 days, far less time than the current 4.5-year average. The following cities were selected to participate in the program: Denver, Detroit, El Paso, Los Angeles, Miami, Newark, New York City, San Diego, San Francisco, and Seattle.

A new study by UCLA of the program in Los Angeles shows that in the 449 cases completed as of February of this year, fully 99 percent of the applicants failed to qualify and have consequently been ordered deported. Not surprisingly, more than 72 percent of those so ordered have failed to show up for their deportation hearing.

Not that Biden and company are anxious to deport. Far from it. Breitbart cites former Acting ICE chief Thomas Homan, who told them earlier this month that “Biden is deporting just one illegal alien for every roughly 100 illegal aliens” caught crossing the border. Homan explained that while roughly 2.5 million illegal aliens have been encountered at the border during Biden’s tenure, ICE has ordered the deportation of just 26,000.

There is no interest on the part of the White House to do anything but admit more and more illegals. Failure to qualify for asylum is no barrier. Most who are admitted, qualified or not, are here to stay, one way or another.
