The Biden Administration, for all practical purposes, is abolishing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), says a letter signed by Rep. Matt Rosendale (R-MT) and 44 other congressmen. Addressed to Alejandro Mayorkas, secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the letter cites the systematic steps Mayorkas has taken to curtail the enforcement powers of ICE. The letter concludes by stating that:
“While not directly giving in to the radical Left’s calls to abolish ICE, by halting immigration enforcement actions conducted by the agency, it is clear DHS is seeking to abolish ICE from within. . . . We strongly urge you [to] rescind these misguided memoranda . . . and empower ICE personnel to continue the critical work they do ”
