Hungarian PM Sounds Easter Warning
In his Easter address Hungarian Prime Minister Victor Orban affirmed that mass immigration threatens Europe's identity, particularly its Christian heritage. He stated, "Today we live in a time when international politics is a battlefield. The independence and freedom of European nations are at stake. And at the center of the battlefield is migration. . . . [W]e want to preserve the foundations. We do not want parallel societies , we do not want population exchanges, and we do not want to replace Christian Civilization with a different kind."
Orban also expressed strong criticism for billionaire currency speculator George Soros for supporting mass immigration. Said the prime minister, "George Soros must not be underestimated: he is a powerful billionaire of enormous determination who, when it comes to his interests, respects neither God not man. . . . [He] is spending endless amounts of money to support illegal immigration. He wants to keep the pressure on Hungary: the county which expects even the likes of George Soros to obey its laws."
Maryland Rejects Sanctuary Status
A bill to make Maryland a sanctuary state failed to pass the State House. Sanctuary advocates in Maryland had hoped that the legislation would be a challenge to the Trump Administration's anti-sanctuary policy. The case in the state of an illegal alien charged with raping a 14-year-old school girl helped to sway sentiment against the legislation.

Higher Crime in Sanctuary Cities
Advocates of sanctuary cities often cite a study by university researchers in California and Iowa which claims that crime rates are not higher in in those cities. That was the official conclusion of the study. But WorldNetDaily found that the data gathered for the study actually indicate that crime rates are higher in sanctuary cities, where authorities shield illegal aliens from immigration law enforcement.

Trump Nominee Is Disappointing
Immigration control supporters were disappointed by President Trump's nomination of Kevin Hassett to the Council of Economic Advisors. Hassert is a globalist and a mass immigration advocate.
He stated: "With lackluster GDP growth threatening to become our new normal, allowing more immigrants to enter for the sake of employment is one of the few policies that might restore our old normal. If the U.S. doubled its total immigration and prioritized bringing in new workers, it could add more than half a percentage point a year to expected GDP growth."
Adding more workers will expand the GDP, but expanding it in this fashion does not mean more wealth and better wages for average Americans. But it does mean more profits for economic elites.
Alien Advocates Plan Protest
Illegal Alien advocates are planning activities on May 1 to protest President Trump's proposals to enforce immigration law. The protest is being organized by a coordinating group called Rise Up. It calls for supporters to boycott schools and businesses in a show of solidarity against Trump. Latino supremacist Congressman Luis Gutierrez (D-IL) endorsed the protest and criticized the president for "creating fear" among illegal aliens.
Illegal Border Crossings Down
Arrests of illegal aliens sneaking across the Mexican border dropped sharply in March to 12,500, the lowest monthly figure in seventeen years. Secretary John Kelly of Homeland Security said that the decline was "no accident" but a consequence of President Trump's stated plans to thwart illegal immigration. Border control advocates caution, however, that many people who would like to come illegally are waiting to see if Trump will carry out his promises. If not, they warn, the flow of illegal immigration across the border most likely will pick up again.

TX Governor: Jail for Sanctuary
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) said he will sign legislation that could impose jail terms on officials who uphold sanctuary policies. These policies prevent cooperation with federal immigration law enforcement to detain and deport illegal aliens. Said Abbott, “We have been pushing a piece of legislation in Texas that is going to pass that I will be signing into law that imposes even sterner penalties on counties. It will include things such as further defunding them. It will impose fines. And it could impose jail time for these sheriffs to enforce the laws. Oddly enough these sheriffs could wind up behind the very bars they are releasing these criminals from.”
