DACA Program Continues
Immigration Control supporters are concerned that President Trump has not yet eliminated President Obama's DACA program which grants legal status to a category of illegal aliens. Obama illegally proclaimed DACA in defiance of the constitutional separation of powers which gives Congress, not the president, the right to makes laws. Illegal aliens in the DACA category continue to receive permits to work in the U.S. Some immigration control activists are concerned that cheap labor interests in the Republican Party are pressuring the president not to act on DACA.

Some campuses are following the lead of "sanctuary cities" by stating their refusal to cooperate with federal immigration law enforcement. Rep. Said Hunter, “This effort is not about telling colleges who they can and can’t accept for enrollment, but whatever decision they make will either mean they receive federal money or they don’t — it’s that simple.”
Deportation Figures Nosedive
Deportations of illegal aliens from the interior have declined by 73 percent since 2009. The Obama Administration claims that it has removed focus from most illegal aliens in order to focus on deporting illegal aliens who pose a criminal threat to the public. While the percentage of these aliens as part of the total of illegal aliens deported has sharply increased, the numbers of those criminals being sent home have steadily declined. In 2016 they totaled 60,000, down from approximately 150,000 in 2010. There are two million deportable criminal aliens now residing in the U.S.
