That “something” nowadays includes Mexican president Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), Joe Biden’s “amigo,” who yesterday hailed the American president for being “the first president of the United States in a very long time that has not built, not even one meter, of wall.”
AMLO needs an undefended border to his north to act as a safety valve to offload members of his downtrodden peasant class, to send remittances back home from Mexicans illegally employed in the U.S., and to further enrich the drug- and human-trafficking cartels that are inextricably entangled with his thoroughly corrupt government.
And, Biden, of course, for reasons often detailed here, is more than happy to oblige.
As Breitbart News’ John Binder reported on January 10, Biden has “chosen to leave wide holes in the border wall, rendering the barrier useless in many circumstances.”
Instead [Binder continues], the Biden administration has spent previously-allocated border wall funds on “environmental remediation” projects, even as some 2.6 million border crossers and illegal aliens are projected to be apprehended this year. [Emphasis added]
Meanwhile, Biden, who has nothing against barriers unless they protect Americans, is spending close to a half million taxpayer dollars to build a fence around his vacation property on the Delaware coast.
