ICE Arrests 11 Iranian Illegals in 48 Hours

Since Sunday, ICE has arrested 11 Iranian citizens living illegally in this country. All of those arrested have either been charged or accused of crimes beyond just entering the US illegally. Five possess previous criminal convictions ranging from grand larceny to drug and firearm possession.

One of those arrested was Ribvar Karmi, arrested in northern Alabama on Sunday, who was found to be a literally card-carrying member of the Iran Islamic Republic of Iran Army, an identification card being found on his person. Karimi, said to have been an Iranian Army sniper from 2018 to 2021, entered the U.S. in October 2024 on a K-1 visa, intended for migrants engaged to be married to American citizens.

Another was Yousef Mehridehno, who had been living in America illegally for nearly eight years after having lied on a visa application. He had been added to the U.S. known or suspected terrorist list in February 2025.

A third was Mehran Makari Saheli, arrested Sunday at his home near St. Paul, Minnesota. Saheli is a former member of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), an elite branch of Iran’s armed forces. He has, officials say, “admitted connections to Hezbollah.”

AG Pam Bondi has said the Justice Department is on high alert regarding potential foreign terrorists, and Border Patrol officials point out that of the 1,504 Iranians arrested at the southern border during the Biden years, nearly half, or 729, were released into the United States.
