The Trump Administration has cut U.S. taxpayer funding for 15 UN agencies and 230 non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that have supported illegal migration into the United States. They received more than $6 billion between 2020 and 2024, a period which witnessed the greatest surge of illegal migrants in our history.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem made the following announcement about the new policy: “We have stopped all grant funding that’s being abused by NGOs to facilitate illegal immigration into this country, I’ve taken action to stop those funds, to re-evaluate them, and to make sure that we’re actually using taxpayer dollars in a way that strengthens this country, to keep people safe.”
