Migrants Corner Crime Market in NYC

That most sanctimonious of sanctuary cities, New York City, is reaping a whirlwind of crime from the hordes of illegal aliens it has enticed into its borders. Combined with the abandonment of cash bail by the city’s courts, the influx of tens of thousands of migrants has resulted in an alien-led crime wave that is overwhelming midtown Manhattan. There, almost unbelievably, criminal aliens are accounting for 75 percent of all arrests. Other boroughs are experiencing similar hikes: Queens, for example, has seen crime shoot up more than 60 percent. These figures are far greater than city officials have been willing to estimate previously.

According to sources, most of the crimes for which so-called asylum seekers are arrested are robberies, assaults, domestic incidents, shoplifting at upscale stores, and selling counterfeit items.

The sanctuary status of the Big Apple prevents New York City police from working with ICE and even from tracking the immigration status of those arrested. Making the job even tougher is the city’s bail guidelines, which require in most cases that arrested migrants be released almost immediately.

Interestingly, one police officer said that most of those arrested are professionals. “These aren’t their first crimes.” That can mean but one thing: they learned their trades in their home countries and came here where the pickings were fatter.

That’s the whirlwind the Left has brought us. Watch for a similar crime wave near you.
