Fiscal Year 2023 ended on September 30. Unofficial Border Patrol reports seen by Breitbart Texas indicate that, for the second year in a row, more than two million migrants were apprehended after illegally crossing the border. Furthermore, since inauguration day 2021, a total of more than 5.7 illegals have been encountered. Breitbart’s Bob Price and Randy Clark write:
In September, the last month of the fiscal year, Border Patrol agents apprehended just over 218,000 migrants, unofficial reports revealed. This brought the total for the year to approximately 2,045,000 migrant apprehensions. In addition, Border Patrol officials classified an additional 664,000 migrants as known got-aways.
The much-delayed end to Title 42 removals in May resulted (surprisingly) in a brief pause to the incursion, as June 2023 saw “only” 99,543 apprehensions. That decline was largely due to new policies — such as the “CBP One” app — that allowed the Biden administration to admit much larger numbers legally, at bona fide border entry points, thus preventing them from being counted in the illegal tally. By September, however, the pause in the illegal entries was forgotten: in that month, apprehensions jumped 119 percent over June’s total to 218,000.
