A recent Gallup poll found that only 28 percent of Americans were satisfied with the current level of immigration, the lowest figure in a decade. Sixty-three percent were dissatisfied. That total included 40 percent who wanted less immigration, and eight percent who wanted more. The remaining 15 percent did not express a clear reason for their dissatisfaction.
Broken down by party, 71 percent of Republicans think immigration levels are too high, compared with 19 percent of Democrats who feel the same.
