UK: 20,000 Indian Travelers Admitted While Virus Raged

The Tory government of Boris Johnson allowed at least 20,000 passengers from India to disembark in Britain while the Indian variant of the coronavirus was running rampant on the subcontinent.

Official figures from the British Civil Aviation Authority indicate that an average of 900 people arrived in Britain from India every day between April 2 and April 23, when the government finally imposed travel restrictions. During this time, infections in India were skyrocketing, going from from 72,330 on March 31 to 217,353 on April 15. And the strain began to be imported into the UK, being first detected there in a traveler from India at the end of March. Since then, at least 122 Indians infected with the variant have arrived in Britain.

An anonymous British government source said, “It’s very clear that we should have closed the border to India earlier.” The Johnson government did indeed restrict travel from other variant-infected countries. Pakistan and Bangladesh were both placed on the travel “red list” on April 2, but not India. Why?

Speculation is that the British Prime Minister did not want to offend Indian PM Narendra Modi, who was expecting an April 25 visit to his country by Johnson, a trip that was ultimately canceled.

The influence of Indians and the Indian government appears to be growing in the UK. See, for example, our report yesterday, “UK: Muslim Mob 1, Britons 0.” The “jewel in the crown” seems to be on the verge of owning the crown.

  1. Nobody even talks about the Indian cultural hedgemony taking place in western civilization (and eastern Asian countries, as well). It rivals what the Chinese are doing.

  2. The decision to put India on the red list was taken because of the high positivity rate of people coming from India . The aviation industry has let this travel continue without testing?
