Mandela Barnes, the Democratic candidate for Senate in Wisconsin, wants an immediate path to citizenship for illegal aliens who cross the border. He made this statement last night in a debate with incumbent Senator Ron Johnson (R).
Referring to the border crossers, Barnes stated, “We should process them immediately into a path for citizenship. We need to make sure people who have been here, people who have been working, people who have been contributing, should have a path to citizenship if they so choose.” He maintained that opposition to amnesty is based on “fear-mongering.”
Barnes in the past has called for the abolition of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the agency that enforces immigration laws in the interior of the U.S.
