The dangerous game being played on our southern border by the Biden administration — the one where virtually anyone and everyone gets in to this country — is beginning to have consequences for national security.
Earlier this year, Border Patrol agents apprehended an unrevealed number of Uzbekistan natives sneaking into the U.S. with the aid of a smuggling cartel. Although the Uzbeks came from a central Asian, an overwhelmingly Muslim nation with a history of fomenting terrorism, the names of none of the illegal “asylum seekers” were found on FBI watchlists, so they were soon released into America with only a “notice to appear” at an immigration court.
Later, the bumbling FBI learned that the smuggling gang that brought in the Uzbeks included at least one member with ties to ISIS. The administration has attempted to downplay the threat to our national security by denying that the smuggler was actually a member of ISIS. Rather, he was sort of an “independent contractor.” And, moreover, the administration is sure that the Uzbeks he and his group smuggled in were only — wait for it — “seeking a better life in the United States.” Feel better now?
Armed with the new information, the government is attempting to find the Uzbeks it recklessly admitted. About 15 have been located, but the whereabouts of an undetermined number of others remain unknown.
