The Trump Administration is ending the CHNV program. Initiated under the Biden Administration, it allowed foreigners from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela (CHNV) to enter the U.S., even though their admission was not sanctioned by our immigration laws. If they had American sponsors, they and their immediate family members could fly into the United States and remain for two years under a parole visa.
The CHNV migrants number 532,000. The administration is calling on them to leave by April 24. If they do not self-deport, a memo from the administration warns, they will face deportation by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
